In only 76 days of combat flying with VF-17 “Jolly Rogers” he finished the war with shooting down 16 enemy aircraft.

February 20, 1942 (just 2.5 months after Pearl Harbor) O’Hare bravely took on 9 Japanese “ Betty” bombers headed to attack his aircraft carrier. With his Grumman F-4F-3 Wildcat of the famous ( Felix the Cat squadron) and shot down 5, instantly making him an Ace, as well as the first naval aviator to receive the Congressional Medal of Honor in WWII. Butch was killed in action a year and a half later while leading the Navy’s first night time raid from a carrier. Chicago O’Hare International Airport was re-named after him in 1949.

8” x 10” Oil on Canvas The Notorious “Scarface” ruled the mean streets of Chicago from 1925-1931. Alphonse Gabriel Capone was a notorious Chicago crime boss and businessman during the Prohibition era. He was the co-founder and leader of the Chicago Outfit and was known for his ruthlessness and violence in eliminating rivals. Including the “ St Valentine’s Day Massacre in 1929. Capone earned his nickname from facial wounds sustained during a brothel fight in NYC where his face was slashed with a knife for insulting a woman. Finally convicted of tax evasion, he served time at the infamous Alcatraz. Capone died due to syphilis of the brain at age 48 in 1947 at his Miami Beach home.

The deep blue Pacific, and the bright cerulean blue sky are the background for the US Navy's rugged Hellcat ready for a strike against the Japanese.

USAAF Capt. Chuck Yeager's P-51D Mustang of the 8th AF, 357th FG, 363rd Fighter Squadron, stationed at RAF Leiston, U.K. 1944. Depicted in flight is "Glamorous Glen III" named after his girlfriend Glennis Faye Dickhouse. Yeager finished the war with 11.5 German Victories. He is most famous for the first test pilot to break the sound barrier in 1947.

Originally built in 1292 and located in Walbrzych, Poland in the southwest corner of the country. This beautiful castle owned and lived in by Medieval kings as well as the von Hochberg family. Ksiaz Castle has storied & colorful history. In 1944 it was seized by the Nazi's. The SS supervised a vast underground tunnel system below the structure, part of "Project Riese Complex" a projected Fuhrer HQ for Hitler. At the end of WWII the castle was occupied and damaged by the Red Army. Today it's visited by 300,000 tourists annually, and rented out for special events. Ksiaz has 400 rooms, and is considered one of the 7 Wonders of Poland.
