The Notorious “Scarface” ruled the mean streets of Chicago from 1925-1931. Alphonse Gabriel Capone was a notorious Chicago crime boss and businessman during the Prohibition era. He was the co-founder and leader of the Chicago Outfit and was known for his ruthlessness and violence in eliminating rivals. Including the “ St Valentine’s Day Massacre in 1929. Capone earned his nickname from facial wounds sustained during a brothel fight in NYC where his face was slashed with a knife for insulting a woman. Finally convicted of tax evasion, he served time at the infamous Alcatraz. Capone died due to syphilis of the brain at age 48 in 1947 at his Miami Beach home.
